| 1994 | The Kondo Scholarship Foundation was established in Mitoyo, Kagawa Prefecture, through an endowment from Teruhisa Kondo. The Foundation was approved as an incorporated foundation under the jurisdiction of the Kagawa Prefectural Board of Education and selected its first scholarship recipients from industrial high schools, colleges of technology, and universities in Kagawa Prefecture. |
| 2004 | Scholarship eligibility was expanded to students in non-technical fields. |
| 2010 | The scholarship program was expanded to include universities and graduate schools in the Keihanshin region. |
| 2013 | The Board of Directors and Council approved the addition of a Research Grant Program and the nationwide expansion of the Foundation’s activities, subject to approval for transition to Public Interest Incorporated Foundation status. |
| 2013 | The Foundation received certification from the Cabinet Office to transition to Public Interest Incorporated Foundation status. |
| 2014 | The Foundation was registered as a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation. |
