The 3rd Kondo Memorial Foundation Symposium ~ Major Advances in Functional Materials ~
22/6/2026
The Kondo Memorial Foundation was established by Teruhisa Kondo, the late founder of Toyo Tanso, who felt it was deeply regrettable that students with strong academic ability and good character were sometimes forced to abandon their studies due to financial difficulties.
To address this, he established the Kondo Scholarship Foundation to provide financial support to such students and to support the development of future talent.
In addition, Toyo Tanso, a co-founding organization, has long supported research in carbon materials, driven by a strong belief in the material’s limitless potential. The Foundation also supports programs that foster early-career researchers engaged in original and innovative research.
Building on this, the Foundation has decided to hold this symposium to further advance carbon materials technologies and to provide opportunities for exchange among researchers and industry professionals.
